Incorporated in 2008, Securities Investment Management Pvt. Ltd. (SiMPL) is an investment management firm promoted by Mr.Rajashekar Iyer. The Company is licensed and regulated by the Securities and Exchange Board of India as a Portfolio Manager (Registration no - INP00002940). The registration with SEBI was obtained in September 2008 and renewed on 13th July, 2017. We started accepting clients for our portfolio management service in September 2009 under the product named DEEP VALUE PORTFOLIO (now called SiMPL Multi Cap Value Portfolio).

SiMPL is positioned to offer portfolio management and investment advisory services to high net worth individuals as well as institutional clients.

SiMPL is driven by the value investment philosophy. We select stocks to be included in the portfolio using a bottom-up approach generally ignoring the various expectations of market outlook except to the extent they are reflected in prices.

We are interested in only two things:

• Carefully considering the quality of what we buy, and
• Conservatively evaluating the value of what we buy

Our approach lays considerable emphasis on in-depth company research to evaluate the quality of the businesses the Company is engaged in. This includes considering factors like scalability of business, underlying sound business economics, and quality of its management in terms of strategy, execution and corporate governance. We try to evaluate this by discussions with the Company wherever possible, information from secondary sources and careful reading of published data.

When a Company passes this test we compare the valuation the market is placing on the Company's businesses and assets with our own estimate of their value and generally look for a discount to appraised value. In general we try to buy stocks that reflect a deep discount to our appraisal of value.

Mr. Rajashekar Iyer is the Promoter and Director of Securities Investment Management Private Limited (SiMPL). He qualified as a Chartered Accountant and has over 30 years of experience in the field of equity research, advisory& investment management. During 1996-2000 he worked with Kotak Securities Limited as Head of Research and later as Head of its Institutional Broking business. He also worked as a Senior Executive with Reliance Capital Limited in their management team to develop strategies for their web-based initiatives during 2000-2003.

The investment function at SiMPL is handled by Mr. Ravi Purohit who is a Engineering and Management graduate. He has worked with the Centre for Monitoring the Indian Economy between 2003 and 2006. Ravi has been with SiMPL since 2008.
